Physical Impact recently attended a conference in Australia to see what the new trends are that are making the headlines! It was a full on 3 days of fitness overload. I chose carefully and one of the classes/workshops attended was ZUU, which i would like to go into a bit of detail with. It was energetic, vibey, straight forward and cost effective. Often when we think of functional training and how we can get more bang for our buck! So we think, gym, cycle, row, etc…. well one of the best form of exercise is still body weighted ones, which can be argued by some, (not taking away from the the fact that the barbell is still my first choice for srength gains and hypertrophy). ZUU training emphasis was on natural movement that is derived from animals movements and infants. Ever looked carefully at an infant playing? You would have seen the toddler squatting, bear crawling, pushuping…..and so forth. SO with that said i believe the key to getting results is VARIETY. I have trained many athletes as well as regular gym goers and most of the clients that had incorporated variety in their programmes, saw results faster.
